It depends what your restrictions are on "appropriate." Most books in the teen section of a bookstore have something that might be objectionable in them. This is mainly boy stuff, sexual content... If you think this is ok (it's not graphic or descriptive, they just mention it in passing), then read on.

I would suggest anything by Tamora Pierce, The Inheritance Trilogy by Christopher Paolini, The Maximum Ride series by James Patterson, and any Harry Potter book out there (my favorites are books 4,5, and 6). Hope you find some good books out there for you.
