Earth will always be a planet, since we are the ones making the definition. Scientists could say there are as few as 8 or as many as 40 planets, depending on how lax they want the requirements to be.

As far as earth being doomed in any other way, we are not currently. However, there is always a good chance that the universe, nature, or humanity will throw a wrench at us at anytime, so...

I thought the debate was to add to the existing planets, not to take Pluto out, something about some new moons and whether an orbiting comet should be considered as a planet, don't the headlines read something like 9 planets to 12?

I am assuming this is what you are referring to and not the destruction of the planets

1. pluto is still considered a planet, its just also a pluton.
2. Earth will still be a planet. the reason pluto is apluton is b/c it takes it so damn long to orbit

what...ru talking about Pluto being demoted as a planet. But whatever the definition of planet is, Earth will be included in it.

well there is a theory that a asteroid will hit the world and the cloudy stuff that came off will shield the sun from the earth causing a second ice age sometime in the 21st century
