it makes noises for a few reasons:
CPU Fan makes a noise when the processor gets too hot or close to the point where it needs to cool down.
the power supply also makes a noise, though thats expected.
hard drives can make a noise though that can be a bad thing at times.
in short, the noises aoocur when something need to be activated to keep your machine running or to tell you something is wrong.

A computer has a lot of fans inside it, which makes plenty of noise. Also the harddrives can, at times, be noisy, as can the motherboard.

It's just what they do. There are blower motors that kick on to keep things from overheating. CD and DVD drivers click when they are being activated or accessed.
Your question is too broad if you are worried about a problem. I assume what you are hearing are normal sounds.

That's normal, my cuz's PC sounds like a Boeing 777 taking off... FFFFFRRRRRV V V OOOOOMMMM!!!! lol Mine's a little bit quieter, but I did just put some newer faster/bigger fans in :-)
