Well...of course you still feel good about yourself...but...
it's the announcement of your promotion at the weekly meeting that makes you stand a bit taller. It's the crowd cheering you on as you cross home plate to score the winning point, that makes your chest swell. It's the cheers, the hugs, the handshakes, the champagne and the trophy that tells you that you did something really special at Victory Lane. And it's the oohs and ahhs you hear as you, the Prom Queen, dance with your date, the Prom King.

Yes, it is...winning is sweet no matter what the situation. I have screamed at beating a frustrating level of a video game, and at winning at sports. There is also joy in watching people you care about win, even when you haven't even participated.

Victory is never sweet. It has a pretty good taste, but tends to leave a really strong sour mush like substance in the back of your throat.

Yes, it is still sweeter when only I know, as when everybody else knows, it is no longer a victory for me. I have healthy self-esteem and no need to "tell" who took first place. I know how hard I worked for "that" win, whatever it was, and anybody who knows me undestands I'm a private person and continually strive to be better. I'm just trying to outdo myself!

I would say that the victory is still sweet... but not sweet as it would be making it known.

no because victory is only sweet when you beat somebody you really want to win against.

Yes, because the people you beat would pretty much know. Even if they do not, you get that warm fuzzy inside for the win.

Yes, Its kinda like that feeling of getting the last of something out of a vending machine. You may not know who the next person is that may want that item, but you still get a certain feeling of pride that you have it and they do not.
