So they don't swell. Knee injuries are quite common among athletes so if they are injured in a game they ice them to stop the swelling and numb the pain.

Putting ice on the knees after a game doesn't mean that it hurts.

Putting ice after the games relaxes the bones and muscles. This will prevent injuries.

It's most likeky because they have bad knees & they hurt or are trying to prevent them from hurting. The ice reduces swelling & pain.

I have tendonitis in my knee & have to ice it periodically.

that is a sign that they are trying hard. they are in so much pain that they need the ice to keep the swelling down and slow the pain.
ALso, with all the drugs that they cant take to reduce pain. they need to stay as natural as they can.

because they r always running on them and they dont want it to swell up for the next day... so they can stay as close to 100 percent as possible
