I got a 1300 and went to a private school in NY state (LeMoyne). I guess I'm pretty consistent because I got about that equivalent on the GRE's and am now at ND for grad school. Dont put down practicing, because for both tests its definitely to your benefit to know the format and types of questions that are asked. But also, dont underestimate other important areas. For example, getting into college you'll want to have decent high school grades (of course the higher the better), have good writing skills for your letters and essays, and volunteer activities help out too. If you're considering grad school it helps to have experience in your area - for example doing research or doing an internship - and of course a good college transcript. Many schools actually can recognize PASSION, which unfortunately cannot be measured by SAT's or ACT's, so make sure you let them know how dedicated you are to your field of study.

I got a 26 on the ACT and was admitted (and now attend) Boston University. Also was accepted (and was awarded scholarships to: Howard Univeristy, University of Chicago, University of Alabama, Texas Christian University, and Loyola University.

p.s. sometimes scores aren't everything, with the right essay and good grades (also some extracurriculars) you can impress anyone.

I got a 32 on the ACT. It was out of 36 at the time...I don't know if it was changed. I went to the Army and later graduated magna *** laude from a regional university in Ohio.
