How would you feel if your husband got no activity of his own, always checks what time you'll arrive home, always ask for your assistance even if he can do it on his own & got all the maids around. Your husband may be seriously depressed. It so it stops him from doing anything on his own.
Sounds like he has become very depended on you. Not a good thing. Being at home, and bored, he calls because it picks up his day. You have to stop that. He should not be interrupting your work.
Why is he not looking for employment? Does he have a skill? he needs to get off his butt and do something for himself and in turn will help you.
Only answer is to find out what is really going on with him and make him do something about it.

Well I would talk to him and tell him not to call you at work. Then if he does just dont answer when he calls if cannot work around a ringing phone. See if you could maybe have the phone turned off while at work and then check in on around 10 and then at 3. Just to make sure everything is alright.

I don't even know if you could actually do anything to help these types of people. Many times their insecurities stem from issues that's beyond your control. He has a dependent relationship with you and the only thing you can suggest is help in the form of theraphy/counseling.

when my husband calls me, or when I'm getting home, he's concerned about my safety, I don't find that annoying, it shows that he does care and love me. I don't find it annoying. Yes he can find out for himself, but I'd rather him asking me, and I'd feel that he loves and cares about me. And as for asking for assistance, if you don't want him to ask you for help at that particular moment when you're doing work, then tell him to give you a moment to finish stuff up then you go help him. It's that simple.
