Actually the processor speed of both chips are the SAME -- they are both 2.0GHz chips.

The REAL difference between the two is the L2 Cache. The 3800 has a 512KB L2 Cache, whereas the 3600 has half at 256KB L2 Cache.

Plus if I'm not mistaken, the 3600 is core Windsor and runs on the AM2 socket. Whereas 3800 is core Manchester and runs on socket 939.
