What you've heard is right. Kansas City is using Larry Johnson as their lead back and probably will stick to that on all carries. Priest Holmes is a bit injured so his chances get even slimmer. Herm Edwards, however, says that they will leave the door open for Priest if he decides to come back and play as backup. Other than that it's gonna be hard to see #31 in the backfield.

I haven't heard anything, but will say this..
KC went out and traded for RB Michael Bennett earlier this pre-season. That tells me they have severe doubts about Priest's ability to come back.

My thoughts are he wants to play, but the doctors aren't crazy enough to risk it. From the sounds of it, he has something really touchy going on with his neck or spine. I don't think he'll carry the ball again, and he should be smart enough to realize it's not worth the chance of ruining the rest of his life to attempt it. But, they've never said anything firm, so who knows?

I think he should be traded
even if he did come back healthy Larry Johnson has got that HB spot on lock
