Do any Americans retire on Okinawa, Japan?

Can you buy a home, property, how are taxes? Is there terrorism of any kind. Could iy possibly be a good idea?

Japan is a very safe country. I have lived here for over 2 years and have never had any problems. There are no terrorism threats here.

I am here on a working visa. To be honest, I think it would be difficult to come here to retire. If you managed to get work down there, even part time, then maybe you can get a visa. Contact the Japanese Embassy. They'll be able to answer all of your questions.
