You aren't clear if you are asking about how old a child has to be or how old is too old, so I'll address both.

As long as you can lift your legs, go on releve, and kinda bend over, you can learn ballet.

To dance professionally as a lead in a company, probably 9 or so, unless the person already has a dance background and is incredibly talented.

Most studios and companies don't start actual ballet until 4 or 5. Younger kids are in creative dance or something similar to help build their coordination. It may include some ballet moves, but it's really a base for any type of dance.

Well I think once you are unable to move your body then it's too late. Even then, I once saw a cool "ballet" with people in wheelchairs.

My point is that you are only as old as you think you are. If you want to dance go for it, would you rather live your life wondering what if.

Good Luck

Lower limit: you have to be old enough to know how to walk. (Seroiusly, I think it's more like 3-5 years old, when you have enough coordination.)

Upper limit: as long as you still can walk.

Go for it!
