$14.00
The nearest halves (or 50 cent increments) are 14.00 and 14.50....anything over 14.25 rounds to 14.50 and below rounds to 14.00

When rounding to the nearest half dollar and your starting with $14.19 the answer would have to be $14.50. The easiest way to do rounding is to see which way going higher or lower is the least numbers. Hope I helped.

It would be rounded to $14.00.
Just to help you out a bit, when you are rounding to the nearest half dollar your amounts are going to exactly the dollar amount or the amount with 0.50cents. Therefore anything that has more than .25cents and less than .75cents will round to .50 (14.59 would be $14.50 for this one). If you have an amount like 14.78 that would round up to $15.00, where as your 14.19 is rounded down to $14.00

I know a number of people got the right answer, I just wanted to tell you why. You need to figure out what half of .50 is first, because you are rounding to half of a dollar which is fifty cents. You should come up with .25, so anything less than that would be $14.00 and anything more would be $14.50

I might be wrong but I think that it would become $14.00 because $0.19 is 19 cents away from an even dollar and is like 31 cents away from a half a dollar... Understand what I'm thinking?

$14.00
-When rounding to the nearest half dollar (50 cents), anything below $__.25 would become $__.00.
-Anything $__.25 and above would become $__.50
(Replace the blanks with whatever whole dollar number you are working with)

$14.50.... due to the fact that you stated "nearest half dollar". $14 is not a "half dollar" amount.... so the closest half dollar (and if you were rounding up, it would work the same with $14.19), it would be $14.50.
Looks like most people read it as "nearest dollar".

$14.19 . . . the rule is 5 and up you go up and anything less, you go down.
19 rounds up to 20 making it 20 cents, 2 is less than 5 (or 20 is less than 50) so you go down.

Since 19 cents is way less than 26 cents, the answer is $14.00
