I gave my husband just about everything including the house and dogs and just took the money I won in a lawsuit. He agreed to file taxes with me one more time so I could get back the money I paid out on taxes that he had no part in paying. Now it looks like he might get remarried before the end of the year and I will not get my money back. What do I do, can I appeal my divorce to get this money back?

No, you can not appeal a divorce that is final.
But if you stipulated in the divorce that yall would file taxes this year then he must obey the decree. If he doesn't then you can take him back to court.
If this was something that yall did not have in the final decree then I'm afraid that there isn't anything you can do.
But, you could ask someone who does taxes if he gets married this late in the year....can he claim his new wife. If not then speak to your husband and advise him of this and ask if he is going to keep his word to you.
If he says Yes and he does file and use you as a tax deduction then I would advise you to get a contract in writing and have it notarized so that he can not screw you on the deal at a later date.

If it was in the divorce decree, then go back to court to enforce it. If it wasn't then you are screwed.

BTW, You can't file a joint return unless you are still married.

Only if his agreement to file taxes with you one more time is written in the settlement.

If you have it written in the divorce decree he's responsible.
If not, it'll be hard to win a judgement against him.
