Because hip hop gotta better beat than rock. Its fun to dance to and is really good music. That's why its so popular

I'm not sure why hip hop does better in the USA. I prefer rock. I think the younger generation here has actually turned hip hop into the new pop music (if you understand my meaning here). Hip hop is like the main focus of radio now as Disco was in the late 70s. Hopefully the genre will run it's course and there will be a more balanced variety of music on the radio at some point, but I won't hold my breath...lol :)

Hip hop isn't better than rock in the US! They're both equally popular here, but hip hop gets shamelessly exploited by record companies who try to eliminate the "message" and focus more on the "steriotype". I love both types of music! Just not together....PLEEZ NO MORE LIMP BIZKITS!

because hip hop is like a mix of a bunch of music from different countries and over here if we hear hip hop we hear at least something form our own background.
