No....... I would definitely turn it in! About 2 months ago my friend and her fiance were shopping at the mall to pick up a few last minute things because the next day was their wedding, well her fiance wallet got stolen and when it was finally returned about 4 hours later only about $40 were left in it out of about $400 and that was devastating because they were about to go on their honeymoon. I personally would never carry that much money with me, but some people do and it's better to: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!

If it had no ID or possible means of finding the owner, yes, I would keep it. But first I would search through for IDs. This happened to me once (although nowhere near $500 inside). I searched inside and found some money and a VISA credit card. I found the owner from the name on the VISA card, and called them. They had already returned home (to another state), and told me use the money in the wallet to send the wallet and card to them, and just keep the change. I did this because I BELIEVE IN KARMA - what goes 'round comes 'round.

No. I try to be in the other person's shoes, and I would be miserable if I lost 500 dollars. I am extremely selective on who I give it to, though. Police officers, people who are affiliated with the place that I found it at. If there is a phone number of the person, or someone close to the person, in the wallet, I usually call them directly. If something is not yours, and you do not actively attempt to return it, it is stealing.

yes I would keep it, because if this person carries around a wallet with 500 dollars, im sure he/she doesn't need it as much as I do, this person should be more cautious, because if I was carrying around a wallet with 500 I wouldn't be dumb enough to loose it. So if you're dumb enough to loose $500, then you don't deserve them...but then again I wouldn't be able to live with the guilt, so I would attempt to return the money.

Sorry, I'd have to give it back. I'm one of those idiots who's so darned honest it hurts. I wouldn't be able to enjoy money I didn't earn. It's not right, and it could have happened to me (if I was ever dumb enough to have that much cash on me). I've been hungry and broke before, found a wallet with money in a store parking lot, gave it back.

No, I would mail it to whatever address was on the ID money included. I would however leave no return address so they can't come back and sue me saying they had 1000 dollars. If I want 500 bucks ill work for it, it will taste better when I spend it.

If the wallet didnt have an ID in it then Id keep it. But since it has an ID I would return it back to the owner. Itll be good karma for me.

Absolutely not. I would hate myself and feel so guilty. How horrilbe it would be to be the one who lost that amount of money. What if the wallet belonged to some person who just cashed his only paycheck of the month, and that $500 was all he was able to bring home to support his kids?

If it was hundred dollar bills, I would believe it was from the drug trade.

Twenty dollar bills, who in their right mind walks around with so much money?

I'd like to know who is the owner of this wallet.

So, with the I.D. I'd try to contact the owner, but it would be best to go to the police with it.

i'd go back the entire wallet to the police station. i'd by no skill metal someones funds from their wallet, i visit merely imagine how mad i'd be if that got here about to me :/ If the identity photo grow to be an previous lady then i'd provide it back more effective willingly If the identity photo grow to be some youthful American, i'd nevertheless go back it, i recognize human beings might want to correctly be stupid at some factors, so why no longer provide em a 2d probability? haha
