I realize this will be opinion mostly, but I would like to see what people think.

I see some didn't like my question. My question however is quite serious. And I'm asking it for a reason, there is a woman that I work with who shows quite a lot, and I've wondered if I was the only person who thought it was inappropriate. Several others who know her also think she shows too much. But I wanted to ask on the internet to see what people thought in general.

Absolutely none. I've been to interviews where the dress of current female employees was brought up as non-professional and that the interviewer (male) was happy to see me come in dressed professionally. No cleavage on any part of the body should be showing....This goes for men too. If a woman wants to be taken seriously in order to move up a company ladder she should leave the skin baring for the weekends when she's with her friends.

We recently had a lady at my work get breast enhancements. She also bought a new wardrobe that showed them off with lots of tops showing plenty of cleavage.

Personally, I enjoyed the new wardrobe, however I asked her friend if anyone had noticed, and she confirmed that several people had complained about the new wardrobe as being unprofessional and in some cases, it made some people uncomfortable.

Here's a simple answer from a dad with three professional daughters.

If what you are wearing causes the viewer to disconnect eye contact and look downward, it is inappropriate for a business environment.

As a 51 yr-old, I don't mind if a girl has a "natural" cleavage showing a little, but I don't like when push-up bras and fake breasts take over professionalism.

In a professional situation, you shouldn't show any cleavage at all. You can still look sexy while being professionally appropriate and without showing skin.

I think this depends on what degree of professionalism, you want to project. In the corporate world where women compete with men for promotions, it's essential to put aside the bling and bosom-baring, and dress the part of the woman who wants to ascend the corporate ladder. You may have heard that the opposite is true, and that sex is the way to success. Not so! Not if you want to win on your laurels and not on your cleavage.

Save the plunging necklines for the weekend.......

In my opinion, little or none.

Check with the personnel office. Sometimes even clothes that are too tight will cause complaints.

I would say NONE, But it all depends on the Boss, supervisor. ect...And what Attention are you wanting? Do you wish to gain respect from co-workers? or are you needing to gain some type of acceptance? I guess to it depends on rather you are working around males only or both.

Funny revelant details only turn up when the asker doesn't like the responses.

Check your company dress code. If they don't have one, you have your answer.
