Get your calculator out - I'm pretty sure the way to do this is:
102,002 times 1.001 to the power 9. Or (102,002 * 1.001 * 1.001 * 1.001 * 1.001 * 1.001 * 1.001 * 1.001 * 1.001 * 1.001)

I don't have one with me so cant check, sorry :)

I'm assuming you mean that the population increases by 0.1% every year.

It would be 102,924 in 2009.
