I think we all realized after the second plane hit, what was happenning.I saw it in the background flying around behind the news anchor.(I think it was Charles Gibson).Anyway, I though it was some type of police airplane at that point. Then it hit.Tragic!

I immediately thought Oh my God how could such a thing happen. Somebody really goofed up. But glimmering in the back of my mind was, Could that have been intentional? I right away got on the phone to the friend I always call when there's a disaster and we had been talking for about three minutes and ......My God, it is still too unbelievable to me. But guess what?...It is real and life will never be the same since that day. God help us.

I was listening to a talk radio station when the news broke. I had just turned on the radio in the car and I heard "oh my god, another one just hit!" I seriously thought it was a joke like the Orson Wells, War of the Worlds radio story. I looked around at other drivers and people on the streets and saw no reaction.

My husband was at the house that we were scheduled to close on later in the week so I drove over there. He's the one who got me hooked on talk radio but wouldn't you know it he was listening to a music station on this day. He saw my face and immediately knew something was wrong. I'll never forget it!

Yes. Especially in light of the fact that a light plane had struck the Statue of Liberty accidentally in previous weeks.

It was hard to imagine anyone using an occupied airliner as a missile.

The second airplane instantly disabused me of that thought.

I was exactly the same way. The first plane hit, and I thought it was nothing more than a tragic accident. When the second one hit, I knew something was definitely wrong. :(

When I heard it on the radio, I thought it was a small private plane. Probably a bad pilot. When I heard the second one crashed, I ran into the house to watch TV. That's when I felt sick to my stomach!

I thought that our invasion of Iraq was put on the fask track and that it was a planned, deliberate attack employed by the government to foment public opinion in favour of war.
