If I'd be comfortable kissing them on the lips, or if they are my children.

I would not be comfortable 'drinking from a bottle,' for each of the reasons stated earlier here (above). But, and added to that, I prefer drinking from a washed glass because it feels more comfortable.

It seems strange to me, the steps - where we have

a baby that's drinking from a bottle - followed by -

a infant drinking from a cup with a spout - followed by -

a child drinking from a cup without a spout - followed by -

an older child drinking from a glass - followed by

an Older person drinking from a bottle - AGAIN - a step above

the geriatric stage of -

drinking from a cup with a spout.

Beyond that, the stage is reached where any and all liquids go in through tubes, though through the veins etc, not orally (sorry, folks).

This does tend to suggest a great deal about 'drinkers,' and I wonder if it is worthy of a university psychology department studing my theory....!

Oh, I do tend to think that many of those who drink from the bottle behave little better (and sometime worse) than children.

Of course, this is just a personal observation and contains my prejudices.

Regards.
sash.

Knowing that I won't die, unless the other person has some kind of life-threatening disease that can be transferred to me through saliva. In which case, I would know about it, since I would only feel comfortable drinking out of the same bottle as someone i knew.

i don't drink out of bottles!! if you have ever worked in the cellar of a bar you will know why, the amount of rodent urine on most bottles when tested is enough to put you off besides other things. and when they bring them up from the cellars or storage ares I've never seen them washed and sterilised yet.

The only person I drink after is my husband. I'm comfortable doing this because I figure if my mouth has been on his d*ck, it can certainly go on his cup.

request at least a glass to pour it into, most brewery's, warehouses and cellars have rodent visitors that urinate at best over the bottles.
its not in most cases who you share the bottle with but what!
