I feel sorry for you: ani mitzta'er (male)/ mitzta'eret (female) bishvilcha (male)/ bishvilech (female).
Or, as in "I pity you":
ani merachem (male)/ merachemet (female) aleycha (male)/ alayich (female).

How was school?:
eyich hayah beit- sefer? (eyich= how, hayah= was, beit- sefer= school)

There is no syntactic difference between question phrases and non- question phrases in Hebrew.

The word for sorry is "sleecha" I don't the the tense conversion for that phrase, Iy can be repalced as said.
