The Ramsey case is relatively small potatoes compared to terrorism.
Plus, the issues are on two way different levels. One is a threat to national security, and the other now is more about morbid curiosity.
The following of the Ramsey case is not large enough to distract the US, let alone the World, from terrorism.
The US government would use something bigger like Korea or Iran.
