Yep- it's a great way to find questions that I'll get "Best Answer" for, especially if it's an older question. I'm sneaky like that. Besides, the first page is usually full of stupid crap. You have to dig a little for the good questions.

Sometimes - depends on the category. If it's a category I know a lot about (astronomy, for example), I'll dig deeper for questions that have few answers - the easy ones usually get answered correctly quite quickly, and by many people.

I have, several times, and I give my "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" to all the answers. I learn a lot that way, mostly about peoples' perspectives. It's not always enjoyable to read some answers, but, I'm used to some trash, so I venture out. God Bless you.
