President bush was sent a memo in Auguest about something big about to happen in New York on September 11 and no action was taken plenty of proof to back this up

I've always felt that they knew in plenty of time to stop it. So sad that so many innocent people had to die in vain.

Of course, If I was president and had some non-specific information that something MAY happen in New York at some time in September, I certainly would have shut down all air travel, all buses, all subways, all ocean traffic at the ports and would have instituted a curfew for the entire month. I would have also deployed troops to comb the streets and round up anyone who looked funny. (obvious sarcasm to most, but I have to put this disclaimer on the statement for the idiot questioner)
Remember, the federal government under "your boy" instituted laws that made it difficult or impossible for the FBI, CIA and local law enforcement to share information with each other about ongoing investigations, so any information the government had was not complete. Remember the whole "connect the dots" crap people like you spouted for months after 9-1-1. That's why we had that whole 9-1-1 commission farce and why we have the patriot act now. Pay attention. You people are a joke.

the simple fact is... it's a failure all the way from the CIA, FBI, Clinton and Bush...
but ultimately the responsibility lies with Osama...
side note: the thing I CAN'T BELIEVE... is that Bush is CLEARLY not making a concerted effort to find bin Laden and is and has been using more resources in Iraq than in the actual war on terror? How is this acceptable? Has he forgotten about 9-11?

There was more than a stupid memo sent to the president.
President Clinton knew Bin Ladin blew up the side of a Naval Battleship and let him go when Europe notified him they had Bin Laden in custody.
You know, you whould investigate more than a little bit of information to compare to a big catastrophe!!!
