In pastures, in the grass, around cow patties, in the woods on aspen blow downs. Under cultivation on wood chip mulch, on heavily fertilized very well watered lawns. Be careful picking wild ones, there are several Little Brown Mushrooms (LBM's)that look very similar but are deadly poisons. You would be better to start with a kit until you know what you are looking at.

I'm pretty sure it isn't considered possession until you have picked them and dried them and bagged them. By all means inform the local constable, I'm sure he could use a good laugh. I know that third question of yours cracked me up.

buy a kit, they are legal(I think) from cannabis culture or High Times magazine. May want to check the legality thing if you care .
