I've always had the best luck with travel agents, especially in Asia.

Get on the email lists for the airlines that come here. Cathay Pacific had a promo of $763 from the West Coast although it means a stopover in Hong Kong (I don't know how long the stopover is but it might be hard with a baby). It was a "deal of the month".

Where are you coming from? In the Bay Area, we often looked in the Fil-Amer newspapers for sales and travel agents. We have traveled on Cathay, JAL, EVA, and Asiana. We have also traveled on promos for three boxes instead of two.

You can also set up a fare watcher on Travelocity.com and the system will email you when the price goes below a certain amount.

Travelzoo.com can have links to good sales as well.

The cheapest months for Air Travel in Philippines here in the US is February, March, April, and May..

From NY fair could go for $700 - $900.. Weekdays are the cheapest!

I just went there last march.. I paid $650 for my ticket through Orbitz.com.. With Mulit Airlines..

And what's good too is that! In does times in the philippines its summer.. And I just wanna get out of NY becuase its spring.. I have allergies.. I can't stand it.. So in does months I try to stay in the Philippines and enjoy the vacation..

you dont want to go here starting january to june because of new year, school graduation, summer
july to september/october can be good because there's not much holidays/events at these times that makes the airfare and everything skyrocket
november to december is not good too(moneywise)

so if youre considering the ridiculous expenses on fare and things to buy here (although goods here ie food, clothing, can be very cheap for you), try going around july to october
one thing you should expect, however, is that it's rainy season right now

i have no idea about travel/airline agent so im afraid i cant help you there

For myself I had had the best luck with Philippine Airlines. Try to get your tickets 6-8 months in advance and you should be alright. Usually I see a range for 850-900's for adults.....nowadays with the higher cost of fuel I don't know....

In the past the off-peak travel period is between March and June, and between September and December just before Christmas.

When we purchased tix for our most recent trip, the fare jumped up after June 30, but we couldn't afford to leave before then because of scheduling.

By this time i think is the off-peak season in Philippine travel... Quite cheap and comfortable in Philippine Airlines... They cover almost all of the islands, major and minor routes. There are cheap travel and holiday packages as well... Check out this tourist spot i visited
