or education or health care?

I don't know... I am starting to wonder if those people are very bright?

what's interesting is the ideas of conservatives on guns... mainly used to potentially overthrow government, yet the government is conservative? Is there an innate distrust of the government, even if it is conservative, in conservatives?

The second ammendment (the right to bear arms) is the only part of our constitution that gives our Bill of Rights "teeth".
It's been said that if our government ever gets out of control (it's almost there now!) it is our responsibility,as a people, to set them straight,by force if neccessary. You're not going to do that without firepower.
It's also been said that anyone who is willing to give up liberty for security deserves neither.
Some folks would chip away at your liberties by attacking first the ones you don't care about.Give'em an inch, and they'll take a mile.
Which right would you like to see stripped away next? Free speech? Freedom of assembly? The vote?
Vote to keep the rights you have, even the ones that you think don't concern you. They are yours by birth!Let no one take them away!

Well, I think they figure if the government takes their guns they won't be able to shoot anything for Ma to fix for supper. Most of the people who feel that way don't have jobs and live off the system.

I'd also like to add that if gun owners were more responsible, you wouldn't be having this problem. Yessirree, Dick Cheney with a gun, uh huh.

Because if we give up our right to bear arms, then we won't have to worry about jobs or the cost of living...we won't be living free for long.

I am concerned because the first step to enslaving people is to disarm them. Adolf Hitler proved just that.

Amendment X

read them learn them. amendment 2 tells you why we have the right to bare arms. incase the government decides to clamp down on the american people we have the right to over throw the government, and you can't over throw a government without arms.
