I can't talk to a boy that my family is ether "you know you shouldn't be dating him, somebody said he smoked pot" or "who's your boyfriend? he's a cutie!" so ususally I'll tell my family that it's a friend and they're like "yeah, right"
but for my first year of high school, I'd like to be more focused than boy-crazed,

Why do any of your relatives, have a prob with it? Why do they think it's your bf? You mean why do they think the guy is, your bf? Maybe they want him to be, him, regardless of how they'd feel about it. Boys can be just friends, but you do what you think is the easiest for you.
