It should be in start/all programs/accessories.
If now, for one time, you can just press start, then run, and type wordpad and it will start.
If it isn't in start/all programs/accessories, and if you understand the file system on your computer, to add it permantly you could add a shortcut to it. To do so you can right click on the Start button, select "explore all users", find and expand the "program files" subdirectory, expand the "windows NT" subdirectory, expand the "accessories" subdirectory, then right click on the wordpad.exe file. You should select copy.
Then go back up and you will find "document and Settings" "all users" "Start menu" "programs" "accessories" Right click in the accessories subdirectory and select paste shortcut.
Now you should have it back.

If you go to My Computer icon then to C: you will find it in program files folder. Or you can just search for it in the start tab.

If its not in start-accesories or on your desktop you should ask the other people on your computer (alternate XP accounts) if they've created a shortcut to it on their desktop. If somebody does that it removes it from the start menus of all accounts (stupid but true)
