I wouldn't wear jeans as well to any interview, regardless of how causal the dress code is. I don't think for a medical assistant you need to wear a suit. A pair of nice slacks and a blouse would be good. I've gone to an interview in scrubs before but the manager who was conducting my interview knew I was coming STRAIGHT from work at my other job. Even then I made sure that I didn't look to tired or stressed (a little make up touch up) and my hair was done. Another thing, if you have long hair, I'd suggest wearing it in a ponytail. You'll likely be asked or expected to do this anyways. People ask me all the time why I wear my pretty hair up and I tell them "I've worked as a MA for 6 years, it doesn't even feel normal to wear it down". Also closed shoes. I'd suggest flats, not heels. There won't be ANY needs for heels as a medical assistant. No crazy nails (fake nails are a no-no) but I've worked in a place where they overlook it. No strong perfume, or any if you can at all avoid it. I actually have a job interview tomorrow. I have a pair of black pants, which I'll have to bring my lint roller with me because I know the white dog hair will end up everywhere. A blouse of some kind and considering offices are usually cold I'm bring a cardigan to go with it and some flats. Its not completely business but its business casual. This is your first chance to make an impression. You don't get to do that over again, especially at your interview. If you show up in skinny jeans they will not take you seriously.

If they ask you "Why should we hire you?" You can say the normal things like you are dependable, hard worker, always on time, etc.... But throw in something a little more that will make you stand out and put you ahead of everyone else... Say that you will go out of your way to be extra helpful to customers because you are concerned they will come back and that will bring revenue into the company...... You are interested in the company doing financially well.. You want to be a part of that... they won't expect that answer but you will stand out.. After all, don't you notice when you go to the doctor how they can hound you to pay your bill? thats because they need money to pay for the staff, equipment, rent..etc..Good luck

I wish you all the luck. I actually have an interview myself next week for environmental assistant. Hopefully we'll both get the job.

I'm not in a position to advice, lol, but just be yourself, look confident and enthusiastic. ;)

Make sure you dress in clean, professional clothes...no low cut tops or short-short skirts.

Wash yourself thoroughly and don't overly apply make-up or perfume.

Study up on your basics tonite.

Answer questions thoroughly, but consciously and try not to be nervous.

Good Luck.
