First of all...you shouldn't stereotype. Not all women do that. So shame on you for that.
Second of all...some men are also guilty of the same thing.
Third of all, if a man or a woman expect more from their mates than themselves, they are codependent and it's a very dangerous ingredient for a marriage.

This isn't true of all women; some are anxious to please their mates. Sometimes, it's the other way around, too. I've seen men AND women like that.
The reason people are that way is because they were spoiled rotten as children, and grew up thinking that the world had to turn to their moods.
Poor marriage prospects, they are indeed.

As a married woman, I've noticed this too, in myself and in others. I don't know if you can really generalize and say this applies to all women, but for many, it is the case.
The anti-feminist backlash of the last several years has contributed, I think, to making married women retreat into what they see as a 1950's model of womanhood and marriage. (Actually, statistics show that in the 1950's, the majority of married women were employed.)
I have developed a policy of not asking my husband to do things that I can do myself. I've learned a lot that way.
Now, if only he'd not expect me to do things he can do himself . . .

Women are conditioned to be dependent in our society (for the most part). Women want a strong, consistent figure in their lives and set unrealistic expectations on their men in hopes of creating this 'figure'.

I don't think any woman really does, they are just more vocal about it.
My husband is the silent type who thinks it's weak or something to complain when I piss him off. I am mean if I REALLY piss him off he says something, but in general he goes with the flow.
Women don't function that way. There is a reason old female horses are called "nags". As a lady I know I can be one from time to time. Ask my son!

huh?? i've never met a woman like that. unless you're meaning they spend more time on their mate than they do themselves.
if that's what you mean; women are taught from day one that we are the lesser species and we exist to give others the best of ourselves even if we get nothing in return.

that is a question that adam asked after Eve was created and I think it will be asked until the end of time. Bottom line Women "think" emotionally men think logically.

Some Women still have a touch of the "old fashioned" values in their DNA or from up-bringing. Deep inside, no matter what they say, they are still looking for that "night in shining armor" to rescue, love and provide for them.
Sad, but true...making it very difficult for some of us.

Not me. I expect the same from my mate as I do from myself. Relationships are partnerships. If Im not giving 200% then he should not have to compensate. Some SELFISH people expect more from their S.O. and thats why they are selfish.

Very good question, but I don't. I like to work and have my own money. I don't like depending on people for anything.
