When you refer to women making the world go around, are you refering to reproduction? It allows the humanity to continue, but I think money would play a more immmediate role in everyday life. Oil is an important part of United States of America industrialization.

Actually Oil explains a heck of lot more modern history than anything else.
But personally I believe the world goes round because of Newtons laws. (It will keep going round until some force acts to stop it).
