The Dutch rabbit is said to have originated in Holland. It was brought to England in 1864 and developed into the breed you see today. It is one of the oldest breeds known and the first spotted rabbits were recorded in the 15th century. Today the Dutch is one of the most popular breeds in America.

I found a website with info on dutch rabbits. PS A Dutch rabbit is a certain breed there aren't different varieties of the rabbit.

Varieties:
(recognized) black, blue, chocolate, gray, steel, tort.

not recognized but possible - lilac (choc X blue)

They are a marked breed - they must have particular markings in order to show. The markings count for 50% of the score on the standard of perfection.
