Hello MY dear
The people who said above was not correct bcoz the exception itself is like "No operating system found" then how can u enter in to a safe mode
There is only one thing u can do
Just get a WindowsXp cd(bootable) put it inside the cd drive then restart the PC then follow the instructions.
thats all and this is the one option u can do

If it says "no operating system" then the hard drive is not being read correctly. You need to be able to read the hard drive to boot up in either normal or safe mode.
Most frequent cause is a bad connection. Did you bump, drop, or jolt the laptop before this happened? Disconnect the hard drive, blow some canned air on the connectors, reconnect. That usually resolves the problem. If you're not comfortable doing that, take it to work and bribe the office techie geek with a six pack of a good microbrew.

when you restart or switch on your laptop again press F8 to get the options to start in safe mode, however if you are still having problems, do a quick restore, the cd should have come with your laptop and this will bring back your computer as if you took it out of the box.
Hope this helps

Restart your laptop and hold down the F8 key. You will see a menu and use the arrow keys to scroll up to Safe Mode. Choose Safe Mode and you may be able to recover Windows. WIN XP also has Recovery on the same menu. You might be able to restore your laptop to a previous good working Windows. Good Luck.

Sounds pretty bad. If you wiped to operating system you are out of luck.
Assuming you are on windows xp......turn the computer on.
At the same time of shortly after press and hold the f8 key.
If the OP system is still there you will get a screen that will let you go to safe mode.
Good luck.

no operating system errors usually mean a failed hard drive. You can use F1 at startup to get to the boot menu. You may be able to check for the hard drive there. You can boot from the Windows CD or from a bootable floppy, if you have one.
F8 at bootup will bring you to the "safe mode" screen, but if your hard drive is fried, you'll never get to the point you can use F8.

If the F8 doesn't work before bootup, can remove the HDD and put it as a slave drive of someone elses PC and try to pull the important info off of the drive and back it up to cd. Once you do finish doing that, use the repair/restore cd and restore the system files back into place. If it doesn't restore your drive to normal, your HDD may need to be replaced. Regards..

this will probably not work because you have serious problems.
hitting F8 during boot up will take you to a screen to boot windows in safe mode.
Your HD could be too corrupted for this to work
