Yes, they're human - unless you mean one of the various forms of 'dwarfs' mentioned in fantasy literature.
Technically, 'dwarf' humans are afflicted with some degree of chondrodysplasia, which gives them shortened and sometimes twisted limbs; they usually have normal size heads and torsos. There is an increased incidence of other deformations and comorbid conditions, but many dwarfs have full and active lives. The little guy from Fantasy Island is a dwarf.
Midgets are actually miniature people with normal proportions. Other than diminutive stature, they are no more prone to any particular problems than anyone else. According to Scripture a 'midgit' was one of the first creations of the Almighty FSM, showing the special place these people have in His heart.
The sport of dwarf-tossing may include either dwarfs or midgets, provided the participant is willing and provided with suitable safety equipment.
And yes, they've all heard more short jokes than you can possibly come up with. Give it a rest.

Of course they're real people. Many times species are defined as being able to reproduce and produce off spring that can reproduce. Horses and donkey's can breed to produce mules, but mules are sterile. Therefore, horses and donkeys are different species. Wolves and dogs can breed, but they are the same Genus, and therefore are very closely related and essentially the same species.
Dwarves/midgets/little people (choose your term) are able to have children with normal sized people. There are several hundred varieties of dwarfism so classifying short humans as a seperate species is completly un-logical. Classifying them as a seperate species would be like classifying people with Down Syndrome as a seperate species.

Yes they are real people.
Nope, I don't think midgets should be classed as a different species as they have the same DNA and look alike to other humans.

Technically they are a sub human species. They are small and incapable of simple tasks.
That's why indigenous tribes used to throw them into the fire or sell them off to the circus, for not much more than a loaf of shitty, stale bread.

Yes! That's like asking if handicapped people are real or if dark-skinned people are real! The only reason they look different is because of simple genetic anomalies. They live lives, have jobs, and raise children (usually having "normal-sized kids!!). They are people too!
