Area 51 is a section of land of approximately 60 square miles (155 km²) in Lincoln County, Nevada, USA. It is part of the vast (4,687 square mile [12,139 km²]) Nellis Air Force Range (NAFR). The area consists largely of the wide Emigrant Valley, framed by the Groom and Papoose mountain ranges (to the North and South respectively) and the Jumbled Hills to the East. Between the two ranges lies Groom Dry Lake (37°16′05″N, 115°47′58″W), a dry alkali lake bed roughly three miles (5 km) in diameter. A large air base exists on the southwest corner of the lake (37°14′N 115°49′W) with two concrete runways, one of which extends onto the lake bed, and four unpaved runways on the lake bed itself.

Its actually used for both purposes. Originally it was created as a special flying range for experimental aircraft etc. but with the new general public sightings of UFOs and other strange events within this area & the high security cover-up and disclaimer from the Federal Govt. on these and other issues is as mysterious as the whole unexplained phenomenom. Bottomline the Govt. doesnt want to expound on this and claims we the general public and all the other creditable researchers are crazy.......?? Please give us all a break....the whole World has had ET issues and UFO sightings throughout all recorded time and history!!!!

Military research for modern and high tech weapons including weapons of mass destruction. There are military bomb proof bunkers in the area, where scientist are working in an underground laboratory. Area 51 is a top military secret where they are keeping the UFO confiscated from Germany during ww2 and the other one from the Philippines.

aircrafts and technology. i know its there because my bro in laws dad has been there. he cant say much about it but he tells me everything else about what hes done...they have some 80 year thing where they cant say a word then after that, they can say anything else unless theyre advised not to. i dont care what anyone says, i dont beleive in aliens... and if i did it would be other human beings, not the tv stuff

Area 51 is so 80's! All the "super secret" projects now reside at Groom Lake....it has replaced Area 51.
