Actual ginger root does help with nausea. I find that commercial giner ale isn't really "gingery" enough. If you can find Jamaican Ginger Beer (not really beer, like giner ale but stronger ginger flavor) that could help. Try the international foods section of your grocery store (also look in the drink aisle), or look for a store that sells Caribbean products.

Depend on what causes your stomach pain! If pain is from a gastric ulcer (from H. pylori infection) Ginger ale would not help!! If is a myth that Ginger ale help stomach pain!! The same as if you kiss a frog you would turn into a white knight!!! Ha!ha!ha!

most likely because of carbonation.. it helps with upset stomach. most sodas will help with that, but ginger ale may be considered a better one because it is less sugary and not as strong in taste.
