not TTC again right away due to infections, or other reasons? I know that your body needs time to heal, but am wondering the reasons behind it. Thanks

I am not sure if it is different if you had a MC farther along in pregnancy, but when I had a MC at 5 weeks I was told that we could TTC again whenever we were emotionally ready- there was no physical reason not to, just emotional.
We got pregnant with my (now 5 month old) son the very next month! It was a totally normal healthy pregnancy and birth.

TTC or "Trying To Conceive" is a term used for couples whom are trying to conceive a child. Infections are not the main reason. It is mostly waiting for your body and mind to be ready. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miscarriage for more info about miscarriages.

I had several miscarriages and was told to wait 3 months before trying again. When a body is pregnant, it goes through all sorts of hormonal changes and the HCG takes around 5-6 weeks to return to baseline, so it is recommended that you wait. This would allow your levels to return to prepregnancy numbers.

Usually there are low chances for infections after two weeks therefor resuming sex after three weeks should be fine. However, most women arent emotionally stable yet to try again after having a miscarriage so recently.

Sorry to hear about your loss...You have greater risk of having another m/c if you try too soon. But that doesn't mean it will. I had a m/c at 16wks and my hubby and I waited 7 mo. to TTC. Now we have a healthy 1 year old son...Good Luck

You need to have a few normal periods to flush your body out. To make sure there is nothing left in there. I went through it 2 times and the doc said it is better to wait.
