Dude....you can do AMAZING things with a rollback.
Get someone to show you how to get the truck under the car without moving the car out of it's parking space.....you actually put the truck under the car.
You can also pick up a car that's at almost a 90 degree angle to your approach.
It would take up too much space to write how to do this.Someone has to show you how to do these things.
Don't be scared of a wrecker (hook truck or wheel lift) either. They all have badass tricks to make the job easier.
Uprighting a rolled over car was allways my favorite call to go to.

Yes and Yes if properly equipped. Today's cars are mostly front wheel drive and plastic so most "towing/wrecker services use wheel lift style towing from the front.. Severely wrecked vehicles can also be towed using a dolly in addition to the wheel lift. Dolly equipment consists of two sets of tires( boat trailer sized) and two bars(with or without wheel pans) and the are placed under one end of the vehicle and the other end is raised up by the tow truck. This essentially makes the wrecked vehicle a trailer.

First you pull up 20 - 30 feet in front of vehicle to be towed. Then you operate hydraulics to place bed in position to mount the vehicle. Then you chain your wench using proper hooks into the factory installed tow slots. Then you put the vehicle being towed in neutural. Then using the wench you pull the vehicle into proper position on the rollback bed of your tow truck. You then place vehicle back in park and apply parking brake (if applicable). The you strap down and secure vehicle for trip. And I would strongly suggest having customer sign a damage waiver before hooking on to it.

its not bad,if its an automatic trans you got it made.if not its still not too bad.the bed itself is pretty easy to use, turn the pto on and get familiar with the controls on the bed(winch, bed lift etc)really not that bad to learn.ask your other drivers to help you.and be careful not to damage a car if its not been in a accident.tell the employer that you really want to learn the trade and more than likely he will help also.
