does anyone know how to program the game nascar 2006 for a steering wheel? i bought one and cant use it?

i just got a new steering wheel and cant figure out how to use it on the game, i can still race by using the directional pad and all the buttons but it wont steer with the wheel. i even erased my old games on the ps2 and started a new one to see if that was the cause, but nope it aint. any info will be usefull. thank you for takin the time to read this.

Taking into account that the wheel is compatible with the game, which isn't always the case, go to options and controller configuration. There should be a listing for "Wheel" if that's there set it for that and everything should be okay.
