Is everything just a chasing after the wind and feeding on it

Is our existence, our life, nothing but a random event, the leaf blowing in the wind, the ripple in the stream? If we suggest that there is a meaning or purpose superimposed on human life, what is the mysterious power that imbues our life with such a purpose or meaning? If this obscure power does exist, how does it manifest itself? If this obscure power does not manifest itself to humans in any objective form, it does not exist as far as humans are concerned. Therefore, it cannot convey a preordained or predestined meaning to our life.

Biology defines human beings as animals. Do other animals have a meaning or significance attached to their life? If only human life has meaning, what is it that sets humans apart from other animals? The great apes are the first cousins of humans. Is there a meaning attached to their life? Does a cow, a pig or a monkey have a meaning or purpose ascribed to its life, except to serve as food for humans? Dolphins are said to have large brains and can commmuncate with each other from great distances do they have meaning?

The search for a meaning in life is analogous to medical quackery because we are allowing superstition and inefficacious conduct to usurp our rational means of dealing with our environment. A search for a meaning or a purpose in our life will impair our opportunity to lead rational, effective lives in a manner consistent with the innate nature of man.

A futile search for an elusive meaning prevents us from correctly aligning ourselves with Objective Reality. It will frustrate our ability to achieve the only real success in life: Optimal, lasting happiness.

If everything is meaningless, then the answer to your question wouldn't mean anything either, so what would be the point in asking. But since you did ask the question, that means you don't really think its all meaningless, so at least you're open to what meanings can be had from life.

The first truth to be understood is that you are eternal. Just because you don't know anyone who has realized their eternal nature doesn't mean its not true. 99.99999% of the world's population are idiots or don't care to learn anything beyond their noses. When you truly understand that nothing in this world can harm you, touch you, affect you in any way because you exist as pure spirit eternally, then you will find meaning in everything immediately. You will wonder why you wasted so much time with meaningless questions and meaningless activities.

Depends on how you look at life. If you could only learn to treasure every breath you take as a bridge to every second you are alive then maybe there will be a meaning. Move your eyes around and there is one thing at a time you may enjoy its presence.
From time to time remember that your is feet touching the ground even if your eyes wander through the sky. Do not look too much for what is there at the end of the road, you might just miss something wonderful along the journey.

Alot of life is meaningless. We worry about the wrong things and spend too much time doing them. However, that can be changed with a change of priorities and attitude. Its a personal choice. Life is just here for you to muck around in it, what meaning you get is your responsibility. Life owes you nothing.

Yes, everything is meaningless because it's defined only by language.

It's however you look at it. If you, as I, found that Jesus our Christ is no joke, then, everything seems to take on a more meaningful perspective. God Bless you.
