he should be impeached

thank you for asking a forthright question without trying to sway responses by attacking the republican party or calling libs names. although you pose a good question, i'm not sure that respect and impeachment are opposite sides of one coin. i didn't respect bill clinton, but i didn't believe he should have been impeached -- certainly not for lying about getting a bj. bush, on the other hand, has earned my respect because he has forced the citizens of this country to debate about politics. he's enlivened us after 8 years of not caring about how the government works. people are no longer disinterested about the constitution or rights versus privileges, if the yahoo! boards are any indication. however, this administration has done much damage in compromising constitutional guarantees (whether or not people want to admit it), which puts the presidency in jeopardy. i think the people who call for impeachment of bush don't really understand the process and why. i think they just believe he never should have entered office. i think the people who decry any notion of impeachment probably have an equal misunderstanding of it, only it manifests itself as a fear to exercise what is (for now) a constitutional right of the citizenry. good question.

Being elected does not mean you are due any ones respect. You are elected to represent the people if you continually fail in that obligation then respect is not given. Like everyone else in the world that's something that should be earned. I respect the title of President of the United States when its fitting to be respected. For all of you who say for what should he be impeached for. Maybe you should tell us why we should not impeach him. The record for impeachment far outweighs the non side. I don't want to hear any of the comparisons to other presidential misdeeds in the past. Defend his actions his alone. Yes, he does need to defend them. There are good things too but, do the math things don't add up. I would join neither. Thank goodness its not a either or issue.

Bush doesn't seek respect - he seeks to do the right thing.

If I had a job that tough and that closely scrutinized, I'd quit - you can have it - I'll open a hot dog stand but, I'm not presidential material - Bush is.

I'm assuming that the nay-sayers are all refering to Iraq:

Anyone who beleives that we should have left Saddam alone should take the time to learn what was happening under his control.

Start here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/human_right...

From that Wikipedia page - go to the bottom and click on the videos link (if you dare - very graphic)

If, after you've learned a little, you still think we should not have taken him out - well, I just can't imagine that you'd still feel that way.

My son fought in Iraq for over a year - made it home (thank God and body armor) - he's proud to have done so and I'm proud of him and the USA - monsters like Saddam, Bin Laden, Al-Zarqawi and all al-Qaida robots have to be stopped there before they come here.

So, enjoy your freedom (and your Starbucks) that you are not willing to fight for, have fun poking Bush but wonder how long it would take for the Saddam's to find thier way here (again) - hey, at least when Bush gives a speach he doesn't fire a rifle into the air.

What nonesense! BUT for Clinton sitting on his derriere getting oral, and shmoozing the Europeans rather than respond to the 1st Trade World Center attack, or the attack on the Cole, or other attacks on U.S. interests, we wouldn't be in the dangerous situation we are in now. If he had only acted when it was much easier to destroy Al Queda, Hamas, Hezbullah, and deal with Iran and Syria, we wouldn't be in this world situation right now.

While I don't agree with everything President Bush has done, at least he had the courage and resolve to attack Islamofascism head on, unlike his predecessor.

For those who blame President Bush on higer gas prices ought to get an education. When you do, you would know that oil prices are established by the markets, and not by an administration. Future traders have about $55 per barrel of crude oil price due to supply and demand issues, and about $20 as a result of geopolitical uncertainty. So the vast majority of oil prices are because of supply and demand issues as a result of China having insatiable appetite due to its growth, among other growing nations.

Also, President Bush entered his presidency when it was 1 year into recession. A recession that started under President Clinton, your beloved great president. That is a fact based on economical numbers. The Bush administration did an amazing job inspite of terror attacks, the war on terror, natural disasters such as Katerina, and recession to bring the economy to a robust growing economy.

Unfortunately for President Bush, unlike his predecessor, he's a very poor orator and communicator. While Clinton can sell ice to the Eskimos, President Bush can't sell baguettes to the French. He does a very poor job of communicating his accomplishment and that is very unfortunate.

To blankly blame President Bush and even talk about impeachment shows very poor judgement and understanding on anyone's part.

I think he deserves everything that the gets good or bad because most things Bush does are seen as bad anyways Impreachment is too late, he hasn't done anything worthy of impeachment. I would say before I was a Liberal Republican but now i see myself a more of a moderate democrate hahha if it makes sense

President Bush, to my knowledge, has not committed an impeachable offense, despite the many slanderous statements made against him. Many on this chat site eagerly slander the man and tell lies about him, which they obviously KNOW are lies.

These are actually two different questions. I'm a registered Republican, but not a full-fledged Bush supporter. He's done some things that I don't support and that I'm not happy about.

I don't think he should have gotten the job in the first place, but impeachment would be good. It won't happen as long as we have a republican controlled congress.

He should be impeached, tried for war crimes and for being a traitor, and then be executed.
