Talk to your friend first, unless you are going to be looking for new friends any way.
Just do what you would want others to do to you, ok?

He sounds kind of mean-- telling her something like that in an email. You are free to go out with guys who have already dated friends of yours, nothing really wrong with that. However, you might want to ask her what she thinks first. You might learn some things about him (besides the nasty email) that might make you change your mind. If she is crude enough to get mad at you, and say, "No, don't go out with him or I'll be mad at you," then she's not a very good friend.

Speak to your friend first. Chances are it'll take her a little while to get over it and then she won't mind so much.

Tell him to wait for a while. If he doesn't it's not worth it. It's probably not worth it anyway - if he's fickle enough to dump your friend for someone else he's bound to do the same to you. It'll at least teach him a lesson if you turn him down after breaking up with your friend, might stop him doing that to someone else.

Your friends are worth a lot more than some guy, trust me - it will eventually be over and you'd be left without friends if they see that you treat them like that. At the very least speak to your friend and find out how she feels.

I understand you didn't know before that this guy was dating your friend, but now you do. All the guys in the world, find your own. How would you feel if she did that to you? If all fails have a three some

As a general rule, you don't date your friends ex. Sometimes, it does work out that way, but you shouldn't even think of dating him for a while. You can't let your friend think you'd jump at the chance to date her boyfriend. I know they broke up, but she'll wonder why you went for him so soon after they broke up...and she'll think you've been waiting to pounce on him.

Oh, I do so doubt if this is important, but, as one of the answers did say,, follow your heart. Do as you will, so long as you harm none. And if the guy want to break off with the girl then whatever you decided is not going to alter when he does with her.

Pray first then go to a park,a eatery

Prehaps all three of you go eat, and talk what happened. You can present to the one who got hurt.Explain why you all are here then say:
"hey he wants to go out with me;how do you feel about this?"

If you think that it would hurt your friend, then you have to think hard about it. Do you value your friend's company and camraderie? If the answer is yes, then your answer is clear. You should stick with your friend. I hope that you chose the right answer for you. Good luck.

rule number 1: friends ex's are off limit especaially if they just broke up. Just think how u would feel if your friend went out with a ex-boyfriend of yours.

switch it around
so that you are the friend, and your boyfriend just broke up with you--and now see your friend go out with your ex. how would you feel? betrayed?
look, just talk to her. tell her you've always had feelings for him and as it turns out, he has some for you too.
