You can't. It's hormonal, acne and your period are both hormonal responces. You can't stop either unless you have your ovaries removed and throw your body into premature menopause.
But in doing that you put yourself at a much higher risk of cancer and other diseases.
Just learn to anticipate and take action.
Keep your acne treatments on hand at all times. Learn to know your bodies rhythms and know what signs to watch for.
As you get older this will come more easily. Just don't sweat it too much or you could release more hormones which would trigger more acne.
Try to keep stress at a managable level.

the truth is, you cant, people just break out when its yr time and there's really no way to prevent the timing of it, its hormones, and stuff......all i can say to help you get rid of the pimples is to put some pimple cream on like clearasel ultra or nuetrogena....there is a soap called nuetrogena acne cleanser that prevents piples from coming...u could try that, i use it and it works well to make pimples stop popping up everywhere....my last tip, just have good hygene, wash yr face when you get up every morning, and when you go to bed ever night..it'll help keep yr face and pores clean

Aloha from Down Unda, Jennifer!
1st, let me say 'Proactive Skin Care'. 2nd, don't you have a television? Everybody that owns a TV should know thru those 'infomercials' that it's the best solution to acne. It's usually 'on' about 2 zillion hours a week. Check it out!

Some girls eat alot of one kind of food before their period starts. If you find yourself craving fatty or greasy foods then cut down. Also don't touch your face alot. Wash your hands regularly. You can't stop the breakouts but you can prevent it from being bad by eating more healthy and taking care of your face.

I don't know that you can stop it...it's hormones that is causing the breakouts. I would talk to your doctor about it and see if she or he can prescribe a prescription strength acne cream to use...it will help clear up your acne and help further breakouts from happening.

Sorry, there isn't much you can do. Just drink lots of water. Your hormones are going crazy at that time and there is NO stopping them!
