My mom is married to a man 18 years older than her. Their marriage is great. However she was really concerned about it at first. But she asked herself if a man seventeen years younger than him came along who was just like would it make a difference? She decided she loved him no matter what age. So my advise is make sure the women is prepared to lose the man earlier in her life. Other than that good luck .

That is the age difference between my husband and myself. I was crazy about him for a very long time. We have a wonderful relationship. A lot of our friends and family were against it but they are ok with it now. We never think about our age differences at all. It is definitely NOT like a parent/child relationship. We are both mature, and in my opinon have a better marriage than many of my friends. The only drawback to think about is that the older spouse may pass away when the other one is still fairly young. We both recognize this but it is not an issue.

I would expect it to be more of a child/parent relationship than a marriage.
