Look I have a sister going through the same thing. But our mom is a terrible mom and telling her would be like commiting suicide!(lol) Well I think you should tell her. First ask her how she met her first true love and how old was she. Then tell her you feel the same way about this guy. She will ask you his name, tell her. Explain to her how deeply you feel about him. Then tell her his age if she hasn't already asked. (3 years apart isn't really an age gap). She will asked how you met. Tell her in England. B/C if you tell her yall talked on the enternet she will probably be upset. The rest will come to you. Try it. GOOD LUCK!

Tell her!!! It would really be the best thing to do. It's good to hear that you could talk to your mum, most 16 year old can't. Make the most of your great realtionship with your mum - to keep that relationship going.
The age gap is no problem. If you were under 16 then it would be a different story.
Good luck :-)

Age gap is not a problem certainly not in england... most likly you have had more dates then he has...
However dongo with someone to a different country even if they seem nice... See the TV series Human Traffic based on common facts...
This guy may be very nice but best if all know...

At the age of 16 you are free and able to make your own choices in life, tell your mum all about it as it sounds like it is going to get you down if you don't. Good luck

Sure, tell her, and tell her why you want to tell her. Hopefully she will see how lucky she is that her 16 year old daughter respects and trusts her and wants to share with her rather than go behind her back. Hope it all goes well for you, its not such a large age gap, at least if you tell her, you can speak openly about it and ask her advice when you need to. God bless.

What harm would there be in telling your mum?
The time to worry is next year during the annual visit.
If it is meant to be you will find the way.
What's the betting your mum already knows anyway? We mums are not stupid you know. We have all been there, done that, got the Tshirt but keep it locked away.

well you actually sound quite mature considering you are only 16 (oh to be young and in love again) if you feel the right thing to do is be honest with your mum, then i would go with your gut instinct, she might not be happy to begin with, and will no doubt panic that you will leave her and move to England, just reassure her you are still in the "getting to know you" stages and you want to see how your friendship develops.
just introduce him into the conversation and say "mum, i'd like to tell you about a friend of mine, he means alot to me, which is why i'd like to tell you about him"
good luck sweetie, i hope it all works out.

that is not much of an age gap and if your mum is anything like most mums i know she already knows that there is someone in the frame. mums are like that you know they see a great deal and wait for you to tell them.

Tell your mom... Me being a mom n all, I'd like to think those addons of mine would tell me. Its only when moms find things out they get angry and the anger is only because it hurts to think your kids can't talk to ya... its nice for us moms to be included in our addons lives... I have 4 great friends now, who tell me everything...er...well almost everything...LOL there is a cut off point... thankfully..lol
