How stupid are you? He's a criminal! You be grateful that he is going to be locked away from society and quit hurting people as I'm sure he should have been years ago!

I think you knew what responses you would have before you posted this question - it's sweet that you make a distinction in the fact that the person he shot didn't die, but you know that's not really the point is it. 25yrs is a long time to wait for someone. 7th charge against him and god knows how many other things he hasn't been caught for, he sounds like a career criminal to me and so what does a person do when they're having a relationship with a person like this? Do you think that you're helping him in some way? Do you think you have a duty to stay with him? Do you think you can change him?? If you've reached the stage that you're asking the question then you are beginning to question whether you deserve this kind of half-life of always running behind the rest of the world. If you can figure out the answer for yourself then you've just given yourself the other half of your life that you're not even living yet.

First of all how do you feel about what happened, do you still love your boyfriend, even though he shot someone?! If you love him and don't want to loose him then you could always wait for him 'till he gets out, but you'll probably move on waiting on him, I mean 25 years is a long time! I'm not trying to put your boyfriend down or anything, but this is his 7th felon? He sounds like he has a few things he needs to work out. Are you sure he's right for you? I would part ways ... but that's just me ... if you want to wait on him it's up to you, but you shouldn't have to wait 25 years for him and then try to put your life back together ... and then you two may not even be together by that time. I'm sorry, hope everything works out for you! Good luck!

Man! First of all i would like to say that already (even if you love him) you've stayed too long.... 25 yrs is a long time and i assume that you are in your 20's so in all honesty you should not give up your friendship with this man but you should not try to hold on to a relationship with your boyfriend.. alto of women tend to want to stay DOWN with their mate... but lets be realistic.. you'll be on the outside and he'll be on the inside and what can he provide for you like that unless he hustles from prison..you still have a life to live ... so my advice is to be honest with him and tell him that you'll write him and try to visit if at all possible but most of all remain his friend he'll need someone cause most times love ones begin by being there and then they fall off and that leaves the inmate sad mad and lonely.... Good luck sweetie i hope it works out for you.

I think you need to step back and see why you are attracted to dangerous men. Please do this quickly. You are probably not safe if you are considering staying with someone who is doing 25 years for shooting someone and he is a 7 time loser. Please, take this for the truth, a leopard never changes its spots. Whatever is attracting you is something you need to discover for yourself, before you jump into another dangerous relationship (unless you want to go to jail as an accessory, but that's a whole different question). I wish you good luck on your quest to find your true love.

You need to take a good long hard look at yourself. What are you doing with this guy in the first place?"Birds of a feather flock together".If you spend too much time with people like that your chances of being a responsible, productive member of society are just about "zero"....which is what your boyfriend is.....sorry but it's true.

You're more worried about what you should do NOW? How about why are you even with him? Maybe I'm wrong for saying that because I "don't know him" like you do....but, what can he possibly offer you (legally) that makes you love him enough to stay with him?

You get out, and find a decent man that can offer you something other than a visitor's pass. How about a man with intellect? Drive? Passion? Desire to be something more than what he was yesterday?? How about that?

You need to find someone who does not have a criminal record. If you want to wait 25 years for this guy you can but find someone that does abide laws and will treat you right.

Actually I hope this question is a joke. Never let it be said that people that have charges are all bad.BUT!!!!!Unless he was shooting someone that was trying to kill you or a child or him for nothing, you need to find someone with less of a rap sheet.Thats for your safety sugar.

i feel sorry for you but i suggest breaking it off. from what you've told us he's not the guy for you. 25 years is a long time this person could change mabye for the better but probably for the worst. find yourself a new guy who won't be shooting people.
