You are not doing anything harmful. In fact you seem to be staying out of harms way. You are fine. Don't worry about it. As long as what interests you is not harming you or others, you are fine.

Of course it's OK. Seems like you're just more intellectually oriented than most people.
I was the same way as a teen; I was fascinated by physics (I still am, actually) and was reading about relativity while all of my peers were swooning over the newest movie stars.
I do have an "excuse" for being "abnormal"--I have Asperger Syndrome, which some people call a disability. It isn't, though; it just results in a person who is introverted, socially and physically awkward, intellectually oriented, and has focused, intense interests that are often different from other people's. They say Einstein probably had Asperger's; and if that's a disability, then I'd much rather be "disabled" than normal!
Anyway, whether or not you'd get stuck with an AS label, as I have been, not being an average person isn't such a great loss.
"Normal" is rather boring, really. I'd rather spend my life doing the things I think are interesting than pretending to be who I'm not--especially if that would mean pretending to be a "normal" girl who thinks about nothing but make-up, clothes, and boys.
It's the "abnormal"--i.e., exceptional--people who change the world.

If you ain't normal then neither am I.
I'm a teenager and i love to learn things, be it on t.v. in a book, or other means. I read and research things for fun.
You don't sound out of sync to me. You shouldn't consider yourself abnormal because of it.
The real question is: Why do you think what you do is abnormal? Someone say something, or have you observed something?
I've found that while some teens are into that stuff they are also capable of relating to someone who does things like that. Many times they do them too. That stuff just ain't talked about.

Every one of my 6 children are different from one another. You are okay to have interests that are above the levels of your peers. Just be sure to develop social skills with others, especially young people your own age. Sometimes you will be intimidating to others, and sometimes you will feel intimidated. That is life. It is the game of life to find balance in all of it. Don't forget to smile.

You are a normal kid!!
Just because you are interested in more adult things: does not make you abnormal!!
Some kids like parties, some video games & dvd's... others books... and yet others sports: you like TV & research... what's the big deal?
So long as you are 'Happy' in your life... don't worry about it!!

We as humans compare ourselves to others, as a natural learning process. We want to be "normal". To me, "normal" is being a sheep, just following everyone else.
Every single human is different. Yeah, we have similarities, but that's where the line is drawn. Find what "works" for YOU, and go with it, enjoy being you, and others will to :)

My best guess is that you are going to discover something that your peers will crave to be on board with and become the "leader of the pack" very soon!
