Hey Lilly,
Ortho 7 dust works, see their web site. If you really get into gardening, then you might try different things. Organic sprays work also. You can hand pick the bugs out of the garden, and you can encourage birds and other predatory bugs.
"... catch them, tye a string around one of their legs and have a good time listioning to them buzzz as they go around your head!" a previous best answer on Yahoo Questions.

Don't use poison!!!! Just plant marigolds and peppermint.... aromatic herbs can help chase away bugs.Slugs and snails don't like copper or salt (of course).Keeping your garden clean and well weeded will help attract good bugs like mantis' ,ladybugs, and spiders.Put the marigolds around the perimeter of you whole garden or a least the trouble spot.Banana peels help keep white flies and aphids of roses and such.

If you do use a pesticide make sure you read the label and see when you will be able to eat the veggies. Instead try natural ingredients a few drops of dish washing soap or vinegar in a spray bottle and spray on the leaves. Next year try planting marigolds near your veggies

No poison just get some citrus spray and spray the leaves etc. They don't like it and they will go away. Then your vegtables will still be safe to eat.
