How do you find your correct bra size?

I know that you take the measure under your breast, add 4/5 inches, then measure around the fullest part and then subtract the two numbers. But do you subtract from the original number, or the one after you've added 4/5 in.
Can you please help me with this?

Don't bother wasting your time trying to get a sales person to fit you. Unless you have very perky breasts.

If I were to go into a store and get fitting for a bra, they would tell me I need to wear a 32 B. Why? Because my boobs are normal, and not perky. Even if I have a bra on. You can't just measure across the largest part of the breast and get an accurate measurement. The only way to get an accurate one is to lean over so your back is parallel to the floor. This way, you actually get the full measurement of your breasts. But stores don't do this, I don't know why. My end result was a 32 D by the way...just to show you how far off the measuring can really be.

Best way is to just try them on until you find the right size.

I'd scrap the first part completely. Instead, measure around your upper rib cage above the breasts, below the armpits. If this number is odd, round it up to the nearest even number. This measurement will be your band size, ie the '34' in 34C.

Now, measure around the fullest part of your bust and make a note of this measurement. Then subtract the band size from the bust measurement. The number of inches between the two measurements will relate to your cup size:

0 inches - AA
1 inch - A
2 inches - B
3 inches - C
4 inches - D
5 inches - DD

So for example if you measured 34 inches around the upper rib cage and 37 inches around the fullest part of the bust, you would be a 34C.

Bust Measurement - 37 inches
Minus
Band Size - 34 inches
Equals
Cup Size - 3 inches - C

Bra size = Band Size/Cup Size = 34C

I would not be able to tell you with formulas... but I can tell you something .go to the lingerie store. take a few ot them in different sizes and cup styles.
try them all and check the following
your breast should be aproximately one hand down the size of your hand on your chest.(from the bottom of you neck). lift your arms and check that the breast is entirely inside the cup and there is nothing coming out. look for something that you feel comfortable and make your bOObs look nice.... does not matter the color or the texture or the manufaturer size.it depends on your BOOBS shape and your entire body. think of your boobs like your shoes!..... Your breast is going to be long time inside it and they will take the form of the BRA so if the bra pulls them down or in one side or deforms them.they will take that form after a while.
So it is quite a long time JOB but invest time on yourself... it worht it!
good luck and good shopping!

The best thing to do is go to the lingerie section of a store and they will measure you and give you advice for what type of bra you are looking for, soft cup, underwire, sports bra, etc...then try a few on and see which fits the best and is most comfortable.

Instead of the numbers (and take it from me, I'm a bookworm), just measure around your breasts, not under, not on top, because really, that's worked for me so far.

Most JC Penney stores offer a bra fitting in their lingerie department. Why go through all of that when you can get it done for free?
