It's suggested that you make reservations to Yosemite well in advance. Now that Labor Day is near, once the holiday has passed, it may be easier to rent a cabin tent or even stay at the Hotel. If you follow the directions left by the rangers to lock your provsions in the bear proof containers and not in your camp or car, you should be bear safe. Here is a link for more info.

Hi,
I have been tentcamping there many times and seem to be still alive ;-)
What did we do?
Within Yosemite Valey on the campgrounds, be sure to put all your food and toilettery (toothpaste/gel/ shampoo etc) into the food storage boxes provided at your site.
It is crucial that you put anything in there.
Additionally tidy up your car, bears seem to be pretty clever and assume that below a jacket or something else, something eatable could be hidden and will break into your car.
For wilderness camping take along a bear box to store your food in or hang some stuff high into trees.
Even though I have heard about many bear incidents in Yosemite and seen broken cars,do I actually have never seen a bear myself there, so do not be too scared.

Dont ever keep your food with you for one, they even recognize an ice chest by sight. I have tent camped my whole life in this area, and never have had a real problem with bears. They have come into the sight, but no issues. Let them take what they want. They used to have lockers at your sight to store your stuff. They are so used to people that they dont scare off too easily. If they see your ice chest in the car, they will break your window to get it! The rangers keeep a good eye on the bears and remove any that pose real problems or are aggressive. One trick we have used is to surround your camp with rags soaked in ammonia. It throws off their sense of smell and they dont like it. It is a cheap, easy deterrent. Just be conscious and use common sense!

I' ve executed in an rather good type of diverse circumstances, wasteland to extreme mountains, by no skill had a difficulty. pay interest to the position you position down, make constructive the realm is somewhat a lot computer virus loose first of all, do not placed down on an ants' nest, energetic gopher holes, and so on. the theory that snakes are in touch on your body warmth is a Hollywood fable, doesn't have a lot to do with truth. In a tent you're restrained and a tent wall can provide no threat-free practices. same reason i do not zip my dozing bag, i take advantage of it as a blanket, i'm able to easily upward push up. this may harm tent camping out for the faint of heart, set your tent up, get in it, lay down and function some one crumple the tent. Now attempt to get out of it. Now imagine of ways this may be to do in case you've been asleep, in a dozing bag, in the darkish and who or inspite of it grow to be saved tearing on the tent even as you've been attempting to get out.
